Sensing illness in everyday life: Care-seeking and perception of symptoms among chronic cancer patients.
Background: Over the past few decades, there have been hundreds of freezing-cold injuries in the Norwegian armed forces. There are, at the time limited opportunities for the diagnosis and treatment of peripheral frostbite. It therefore seems to be a need for increased knowledge about prevention and risk factors as well as to examine off-label treatments.
The cultural expression yoik is an ancient form of singing and a living oral tradition particular to the Sami culture. The results of a pilot study revealed that yoik is deeply connected to the individuals as well as to the Sami cultural identity. The statements of the participants were associated with feelings of belonging, happiness, and joyfulness. Positive emotions, optimism, and social support have long been established as health-protective factors against stress.
Development and feasibility assessment of a rehabilitation program for people with chronic health complaints after amalgam removal – the IMCR (integrated medical care rehabilitation) study.
The aim of this project is to test the feasibility of an integrated medical rehabilitation program consisting of a group program focusing on lifestyle and self-help, as well as an individualized treatment program. The study was an assignment from the Norwegian Directorate of Health.
